Well, as a Single dad, it's a hard life. Nothing better to do after work, except play Guild Wars, oh and yes, find my son a new mother.

Me (37) and my son (16) have been using 1 account and the same forum account (He only uses it for PC's, nothing else that I know of). I dont mind, we dont have a second computer, and I dont want to force my son to get a job, just to stay in school. My only Character is Juhziz Kassad, He has a Warrior and an Elementalist.

I recently found out my son is scamming people, this may hurt me too. He may well be giving me a bad name, im a nice guy, im not the scamming type. In the PC section my son made a thread concerning 3 swords he bought that he thought were 15>50 but really were 15<50.

I mean, we all get scammed sooner or later. What really bothers me is that he tried to scam people to get rid of them, which is something one should never do. What am I to do now? Get him to buy an account for himself? Just change the password? I'd really like some opinions.

Hmmmmm, thats a hard decision to make. I think that maybe he should buy his own account, because if he is scamming you dont want your account to be suspended or banned.

Yes, try and get the normal edition of Guild Wars, or grab him the Special edition (with a few unlocks) to stop that problem. But make sure he has an email account and also, make sure you're online to trade his weapons and materials over (Armor cannot be moved as it is pre-customised, and weapons cannot be traded over if they're customised as well) so he knows not to suspend you for not doing something wrong.

Also, it is good thereafter to change the password when he has his own version of GW and maybe things will go back to normal.

Make him wright lines... i had to do that once and i hated it

However i like the buying a new account idea if you can afford it, nothing is worst than having to start from scratch.

Does he know that you know he's scamming people? Maybe if you just sit down with him and talk to him about it he'll understand.

That's kind of funny... having "The Talk", but about GW.

Well, you should make him get his own separate forum account, as if we see him breaking any rules or scamming we'd end up banning both of you.

As far as Guild Wars goes, make him go do chores or something to earn his own GW account. He's 16, there must be something he can do right. And new GW copies are getting ever cheaper nowadays.

since it is account based you will be affected by his offences.

if someone does (has?) reported the scam attempt with screenshots to prove it to support your account could be temp banned.

if repeated the account could be closed with a complete loss of game,loot, and time spent on it.

i agree w/ all those saying get him an account i have found from exprience sharing accounts doesnt work. my bro and i (we are 2 years apart) used to share but there was always a fite over if i got 1 char or 2 since it was his game. eventualy i got feud up w/ it and got my own account works alot better now, plus we can play at the same time. just my opinion though and exprience!

Ok i've fixed the problem, changed pass for account and he said he's not coming on the forums anymore. He said he had enough of RPG's and is now playing SW:BF2 to "Pwn noobs", thats fine by me, as long as he doesnt bother me about GW.

He wont tell me, he probably knows i'll give it out to people and he will be "targeted".

lol drat well he would of been partially rite. i dont actually target people but atleast i could of said to him thats what u get for trying to scam people and almost getting yur ol dad banned from GW and the forums.

Well I really believe if he wants to play GW and scam people tell him to go out and get a job then pay for the game then get banned and see how he likes it then. I really think it doesn't matter to him if he scams on your account because he didn't pay for it.

If I was you and he got my account banned, there would be no such word as fun untell he moved out and he would live the life of go to school, come home and up to your room, then eat, then sleep, ect... Hehe well thats just my two cents.

Were I in your position, I would be the parent and make the decision on my own. I respect your willingness to seek advice here, but you have to remember that some of these people are quite literally your son's age or younger, and that as a father, adult, and intelligent fellow, you should make the lad learn via consequences for his behavior.

I dont want any scammers in my house

I did quite well in the game without scamming a soul so he could do the same if you need tips just send me a message
